Kids for Kids is proud to share that our Chairperson, Garry McColman, has been named a finalist for the 2026 Sport Tourism Canada PRESTIGE Awards.
Hosted by Sport Tourism Canada (STC), the PRESTIGE Awards recognize outstanding sport tourism initiatives, events, and the people who help make them possible across Canada. Garry has been nominated for the STC Sport Tourism Volunteer of the Year Award, presented by Explore Edmonton.

The award recognizes the outstanding contributions of an individual’s volunteer efforts during the hosting of one or more sport events in Canada during 2025. Winners will be announced at the 2026 Sport Event Congress in Mississauga on March 11, 2026.
A familiar voice on Kingston radio for many years, Garry is being recognized for his leadership as Chair of the Kids for Kids Hockey Tournament. Each year, the tournament brings more than 10,000 visitors to Kingston and generates an estimated $2 million in economic impact for the city.
The tournament also raises significant funds for local charities, including the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation Pediatric Unit and the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast. To date, Kids for Kids has raised nearly $2 million for charitable causes.
The PRESTIGE Awards Gala will also be live streamed, allowing supporters, colleagues, friends, and family to tune in and be part of the celebration from anywhere.
